Animation Practice
These are some animation tests I have done to practice and try and get back into animation.
Small Flash animation test. Hand drawn in the software using my character Diggory Sparrow. Voice: David Mitchell Ps. If this doesn't play for you I'm sorry but I don't know why. Something went iffy with the Youtube. Diggory Sparrow is copyright Daryl-Rhys Taylor 2013
UNFINISHED! I have tried my hardest to fix this and I am simply stuck. If anyone has any helpful tips please let me know. Using a rig by Joel Anderson, find his work on www.joel3d.com. Voice: Rachel Stevens
Raptor Run cycle in Maya Animation Test
Walkcycle test in Maya

Maya Modelling and Rigging Not found Success
I really tried hard the last month to try to model and rig a few characters for animation purposes. I know people get sick of seeing the same rigs on reels and I really tried, using a lot of tutorial from a website called Rigging 101.
I learnt a lot. That being said I'm still not a modeller or a rigger (I don't enjoy it much) and even though these are to the best of my abilities they just do not come up to level expected for a professional reel. I am quite disappointed that I wasted all this time.
Now I really don't know what to do with animation. To be quite honest, my heart has not really been in it for a while. After endless job rejections and starting accountancy as a back up because of all those rejections, it's hard to get motivated to animate.

Oh I knew + Update to new idea
A little animation I started to practice for the John Cleese animation, so I decided to finish it. My work can be found online at www.daryl-rhystaylor.co.uk.
An update to my new idea that I have been tinkering with. The description is in the picture.
It turned into a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Kevin Eastman is a real nice guy.

Espresso Animation + Kodama-kun Work
This is work I can show you for the Kodama-kun game I have been helping my friend Dan make. This is a rejected design of the Kappa Boss. The final design has been finalised and I have done a lot of pencil animations for both the Kappa and Kodama himself.
Work I did whilst visiting Espresso Animation. Thanks Phil.

11 second club Lip-sync Animation
Well, I have tried to finish it. It has reach the point where for the life of me I'm not sure what to do and I've looked at it so many times that I don't know if it is any good or not. Therefore I decided to finish it to the best of my abilities and render it out. Hope it's ok.

New Youtube Videos
A head Turn I did when I spent the day at Espresso Animation. Thank you so much Phillip.
A comparison between a 2D and 3D walk cycle.
The 3D walk cycle was done wit the help on Eric Goldberg's book Character Animation Crash Course and the 2D walk cycle was done when I spent the day at Espresso Animation. Thank you Phillip.
Just some storyboards I did recently. I wanted to board and action scene where two fights where going on a the same time that had nothing to do with each other.

Runners job at Passion PIctures and Animation Station Storyboard Reels
Firstly some good news. I have got a trial day as a runner at Passion Pictures this Wednesday. Hopefully this will lead to something. I'm quite nervous.
Secondly my pal Simon has edited my storyboards for the first three episodes of Animation Station. There is no sound but it should give you a general idea. We are of course re-writing some of these. No idea is perfect.

I was going to put them up here but they are mp4 files and they didn't seem to work right when I uploaded them.
I converted it into a quicktime file.
Does anyone remember ages ago I was doing work on the logo for Trisori Limited. Well it went nowhere. But I did something for it so I used it to practice in flash. This is strictly a practice walk cycle. I know I made it wrong in flash, but practice makes perfect right.
