Disney Christmas Shorts at the BFI

I attended the Disney Christmas Shorts programme at the BFI and had a great time. Seeing the recently discovered Oswald short was the icing on the cake. Even though I had seen the rest of the shorts before, seeing them on a big screen with a full audience makes you enjoy them even more. That was the best thing, being in a cinema, watching these shorts ( even black and white ones) and everyone, kids to seniors, laughing.

A couple of weeks ago I posted about my artists block.

Of course I got my exams in a few weeks so I won't be doing anything till them.

However I did come up with an idea.

Much like the Smashified art project going around, I thought about doing one for Disney Infinity called Infinitsied.

This is where I need your suggestions for who you would like to see in Disney Infinity. Any Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Muppets etc is viable.

I can't make any promises about which ones I will do but I will try and do my best.

Thanks a lot.

Animation Practice

These are some animation tests I have done to practice and try and get back into animation.

Small Flash animation test. Hand drawn in the software using my character Diggory Sparrow. Voice: David Mitchell Ps. If this doesn't play for you I'm sorry but I don't know why. Something went iffy with the Youtube. Diggory Sparrow is copyright Daryl-Rhys Taylor 2013
UNFINISHED! I have tried my hardest to fix this and I am simply stuck. If anyone has any helpful tips please let me know. Using a rig by Joel Anderson, find his work on Voice: Rachel Stevens

Artist Block

Sorry for this being a bit of a downer post but I really feel so creatively blocked. I can't come up with any ideas and every drawing I do I think ends up looking rubbish. I have also tried to get back into Maya animation again and everything I try I always get stuck, it ends up looking rubbish and then I get bummed out and give up. Seriously I've got nothing and I don't know how to get out of it.

Angry about exercise bike

Currently I am really miffed about my sister's exercise bike (I use it that's why). It's far out of warranty by now. One of the belts snapped in it so I thought it would be an easy fix. I bought a replacement for £12.46 and when it arrived (this was before Christmas) went to fix it. I found that you couldn't loop the belt around without taking the plastic casing off, and you couldn't take that off without removing the crank arm. So I got a crank arm remover tool for £19.23. Then I found I didn't have the correct tool to remove the hex bolts so I bought a 15mm socket ratchet for £4.99. Tried to repair it today and I found that they have machined the bolts on so tight that they are impossible to untighten. Now I don't know what to do. A £100 exercise bike down the drain all because I can't get at the belt to replace it.
