As today is the submission date I feel that I can post up these images. A couple of weeks ago, in my spare time from college I drew up a submission for the Nickelodeon Animated Comedy Shorts Competition. I actually finished and sent it off a month ago because for some stupid reason entries from outside the United States have to be posted instead of submitted online. We had to come up with a one minute short with at least 2 kid characters and set in one location. It wasn't easy. Anyway my idea is entitled "Timothy the Tiny Tyrannosaurus Rex in What is it for?" Hope you like it.

My favourite webcomics
Recently I have drawn some doodles inspired by my two favourite webcomics.
JL8 by Yale Stewart is a brilliant look at some of DC's best superheroes as kids so I played around with some other DC superheroes that haven't appeared in the strip yet. I though Aquaman could be a cocky prince, Green Arrow a rival to Bruce, Black Canary the loud girl n the class, Hawkgirl the quiet kid in the corner and Plasticman the weird kid that eats paste.
A doodle for my idea Grim soldiers. I have decided to try and make the boy character a girl.
Pocket Princesses by Amy Mebberson is a humorous look at the Disney Princesses if the all lived in a castle together. I love the squat cute drawing design and I have tried to recreate it as best as I can.
A model sheet for my Doodleboy Redesign.

Redesigning the Mouse
This was an interesting experiment. I wanted to practice drawing in different styles (as that is important for a good character designer) so I decided to take Mickey Mouse and redraw him in different styles. Because I couldn't come up with 12 new styles myself I used other artists for inspiration.
These artists are
1. Sean Galloway
2. Tim Burton
3. Invader Zim
4. Chris Sanders
5. Chuck Jones
6. Wind Waker
7. Butch Hartman
8. Skottie Young
9. Charles Schultz
10. Albert Uderzo
11. Stephen Silver
12. Akira Toriyama
